| "En este trabajo analizamos las diferentes formas en las que un modelo de historia ambiental puede contribuir a mejorar la conservación y el manejo de la bio-sociodiversidad. Iniciamos explicando el modelo y después mencionamos algunas de las principales formas en que los resultados de la investigación realizada son susceptibles de contribuir al mencionado logro. La historia ambiental, además de aportar un conocimiento más profundo de determinada región, permite identificar tradiciones culturales, formas de uso de recursos naturales, capacidades de adaptación al ambiente, formas de manejo de los ecosistemas, así como perspectivas de percepción y valoración, entre otras. Esta información sobre las formas en las que se han desarrollado las relaciones entre la sociedad y la naturaleza puede ser de gran utilidad para diseñar planes y proyectos de conservación y manejo. De esta manera, el trabajo de los manejadores y conservacionistas tendría un fundamento antropológico y cultural, que no es común, pero que es uno de los principios del desarrollo sustentable previstos en la Agenda XXI." "In this work we analyze the different ways by which a model of environmental history can contribute to enhance the management and conservation of the bio-socio-diversity.We start by explaining the model and then we mention some of the major forms by which the results of the investigation are able to assist on this goal. The environmental history provides a deep knowledge of a given region; it also allows the identification of cultural tradition, uses of the natural resources, capacity of adaptation to the environment and type of ecosystem management profiles, as well as the perspectives for perception and assessment. This information about the different development shapes of relationships between society and nature, might be of great significance to design plans and projects for management and conservation. Thus, the task of managers and conservationists would have anthropologic and cultural foundation; that is uncommon, but it represents one of the statements of sustainable development reported in the Agenda XXI." | |
